This will walk you through the process of manually removing the AMD USB Filter Driver. This requires editing the Windows registry and should be used only if the other removal methods fail. If you have not already, please try these instructions first.

Step 1: Press Start and type “regedit” into the search box. Press Enter to open the Registry Editor

Step 2: In the registry editor, navigate to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINESYSTEMCurrentControlSetControlClass{36FC9E60-C465-11CF-8056-444553540000} and locate the UpperFilters registry entry.

Step 3: Double click the UpperFilters registry entry to edit it. Remove the line that says “usbfilter” and click OK to save the changes.

Step 4: Navigate to the HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINESYSTEMCurrentControlSetservicesusbfilter key in the Registry Editor. Please note that there may be several entries that are numbered such as usbfilter1 or usbfilter 3, check each key to see if the DisplayName value says “AMD USB Filter Driver”. Once you find the correct one, delete the usbfilter registry key.

Step 5: Reboot your computer. The AMD USB Filter Driver has been removed. Your SmartDongle should work correctly now
